Mark Jennings is an experienced investment and business
development professional with nearly 25 years Private Equity and
Venture Capital experience in Africa along with 10 years experience in
management consulting and organizational development. He is a
strong believer in the presence and power of entrepreneurialism
across Africa and is passionate about the transformational impact that
can be achieved through providing capital, along with business advice
and guidance, to support the growth of businesses. He feels privileged
to have played a role in the growth of key sectors such as
telecommunications, financial services, infrastructure, IT, renewable
energy and manufacturing, where not only has it been possible in
many cases to achieve financial returns, but also to have positive
social, economic and environmental impact. Mark served as Chair
(non-executive) of the African Venture Capital Association (AVCA)
from 2003-2008, driven by the belief that professionals in PE and VC
would benefit from opportunities to get together to share with and learn
from each other, and that AVCA could also support the development of
ideas, skills and knowledge in the PE and VC sectors. His experience
tells him that if we continuously learn from both successes and failures
then we are even better positioned to pursue future opportunities and
to deal with challenges.
